Saving Money
Like other professionals, lawyers charge a fee for their service. That said, when you create legal documents using an on-line legal document preparation web site you risk the ultimate cost of not getting the results that you wanted. For instance, you can not, after your death and after your will has been probated, say that the results weren't what you intended.
If you have never read the small print on those sites, here's a sample disclaimer from one of the well-known on-line legal document web sites:
Sample Disclaimer: The information provided is not legal advice, but general information on legal issues commonly encountered. (The on-line legal document web site) is not a law firm ... is not a substitute for an attorney or law firm ... cannot provide legal advice and can only provide self-help services at your specific direction.

All things considered, the cost of an attorney is a small investment to protect your long term interests.
